Punjab Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak has directed the officers to exert themselves for lowering the number of pending Court cases pertaining to the department and bring these down to zero.
Chairing a meeting to review the functioning of the department. he said every case must be studied and analyzed thoroughly.
He said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had while assuming office one year ago, vowed to take every possible step for the welfare of all sections of the society. Therefore, the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department must ensure that there should not be any delay in the process of giving jobs to the kin of the deceased employees.
He further directed that steps must be initiated to implement on the ground level the policy decisions taken in the meetings for improvement in the functioning of the department and each task should be completed with an emphasis on the transparency factor. He warned that malpractices would not be tolerated.
Among others present included Director Ghanshyam Thori, AMD Pungrain Parampal Kaur Sidhu, and Joint Directors Dr. Anjuman Bhaskar and Ajayveer Singh Sarao.
