Hang Rohtak rapists, arrest Gurugram culprits: Kiran Choudhry
Kiran Choudhry, Leader of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party, has demanded that those responsible for the Nirbhaya-style gang-rape and murder of a 23-year-old Nepal-origin girl in Rohtak must be made to hang, and those involved in the gang-rape of 26-year-old victim from north-east in Gurugram arrested and given deterrent and exemplary punishment.
The former Haryana excise and taxation minister squarely blamed the rift-ridden BJP regime led by Chief Minister Manohar Lal for the utter lawlessness which has made women and girls feel unsafe and insecure in the state. If quick corrective measures are not taken, the self-claimed Silicon Valley of the state would become the “valley of murders”, and Rohtak will emerge as the “rape capital” of Haryana, she asserted.
While the body of Nepal-origin girl was found lying at a secluded place on the outskirts of Rohtak town after her gang-rape and murder, a 26-year-old woman from north-east was gang-raped in a moving car in Gurugram and abandoned in a semi-conscious state near her house.
Ms.Choudhry also demanded immediate police protection and adequate financial assistance for the families of the two gang-rape victims in Sonipat and Gurugram.
