Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Home Ram Niwas says adequate arrangements made to deal with any situation



Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Home Ram Niwas asserted on Wednesday that the State Government had made adequate arrangements to deal with any situation in view of the CBI Court’s judgment likely to be delivered on August 25 in Panchkula in the sexual exploitation case against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh.

Interacting with the media here,he said that Haryana has got eight additional companies of paramilitary forces and an additional force of 2,500 police personnel from internal sources had also been mobilized for deployment in different parts of the state. About 2,000 Home Guards have been called to join duty to manage crowds.

Thousands of Dera followers have already converged on Panchkula near here and they are continuously pouring in by whatever mode they can, even on foot.

Mr.Ram Niwas further said that 10 senior IPS officers would be deployed at critical and sensitive locations by the evening.

He exhorted the Dera followers to keep faith in the judiciary and assist the administration in maintaining peace and law and order in the state.He added that the situation at Naam Charcha Ghar was being constantly monitored.

Directions had already been issued to all Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to initiate preventive steps according to the intelligence inputs being received in the state. The decision to appear before the court on August 25 is the responsibility of Dera chief. He has to take a call on this. However, the administration is continuously in touch with the Dera followers for maintaining peace.

Asked to comment on converting government buildings as temporary jails, he said this had been conveyed to the Director General, Prisons, and it is hoped that it would be notified by tomorrow evening.

He disclosed that undesirable material had been recovered from some vehicles during checking at various police check posts. Such vehicles have been impounded. Preventive arrest would also be made, if required.

On the decision recording the calls of all subscribers, he asserted that no such order had been given. However, the DCs and SPs have been given authority to monitor social media details, wherever required.

Replying to a question, he said the Government would not hesitate in calling in the Army, if necessary, impose curfew according to time and circumstances and initiate all steps required to maintain law and order in the state on August 25.
