A three-day workshop on  ‘Designing patient-centric information systems in resource-constrained settings’ is being organized jointly by School of Public Health, PGIMER, University of Oslo and Centre for Connected Care, Norway, from 19 – 21, February 2018.

Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dean PGIMER welcomed the participants representing the academia, health system, information technology professionals, civil society members and grassroots level health workers to this unique platform where views and experiences on designing health information systems for low resource settings shall be shared.

“Many challenges exist in developing patient-centric information systems and such workshops are important for their improvement and addressing the concerns regarding data safety,” said Dr. Jagat Ram, Director, PGIMER in his inaugural speech.

Presentations and discussions went on throughout the day which offered an intense review of the systems in use in the country and the challenges involved.

I am a veteran journalist based in Chandigarh India.I joined the profession in June 1982 and worked as a Staff Reporter with the National Herald at Delhi till June 1986. I joined The Hindu at Delhi in 1986 as a Staff Reporter and was promoted as Special Correspondent in 1993 and transferred to Chandigarh.
